Next week, we will commemorate the 12th anniversary of 9/11. As that date approaches, please join me in upholding our collective promise to never forget the nearly 3,000 men, women, and children who were killed in the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Last week the 9/11 Memorial launched a commemoration resources page with ideas on how you can commemorate the anniversary individually or in your community. Among the many resources included are a downloadable 2013 Commemoration Planning Guide, suggestions for parents on how to talk to kids about 9/11, classroom activities, ways to commemorate online, and much more.
We hope that you will share with us your thoughts, reflections, and plans, and encourage your friends, family, and community to join in commemorating the anniversary. Please don't forget to spread the word through social media using the hashtag #Honor911.
